Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care. On or about January 29, 2022, AV was calling out for staff to help when Witness 5 (W5) went into AV’s room and attempted to help AV. When staff arrived, W5 became violent and pulled on AV’s catheter twice. W5 caused extreme pain to AV by pulling on his/her catheter causing bleeding. W5 frightened AV and caused much distress to AV. The facility failed to provide a safe environment for AV, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP22-01328 $375.00 fine assessed
