Findings: On or about April 20, 2022, the Alleged Victim (AV) and Witness #1 (W1) were sitting on the couch in the common area. W1 is known to be irritated by people touching him/her. On the day in question, W1 was heard yelling "he/she is touching me". Staff came into the common area to find AV on the floor. It is unknown if AV fell or if W1 pushed AV. AV was assisted to his/her room and assessed for injury. Staff did not find any injury. The following day, AV was showing signs of pain in his/her hip and was sent out to the hospital and diagnosed with a hip fracture. The facility's failure to provide a safe environment is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP22-01009 $500.00 fine assessed
