Findings: Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility to administer his/her medications. A bottle of liquid Lorazepam was signed in on March 21, 2022. On or about May 10, 2022, it was discovered that a bottle of liquid Lorazepam was missing from the refrigerator where liquid medications are stored. The missing medication was not reported missing until May 12, 2022. Staff were not conducting visual checks of medications between shifts as stated in the Controlled Substance Management Policy. The facility failed to provide a safe medication administration system, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP23-01026 $500.00 fine assessed
