Findings: On or about February 1, 2023, the Alleged Victim (AV) was found to have increased confusion and tiredness. AV's doctor requested the facility obtain a urinary analysis to determine if AV had an infection. The facility did not obtain the urine sample until 7 days later, during which time, AV suffered falls during this time, once causing a bruise on AV's behind and a trip to the hospital due to pain. The facility's failure to timely collect a urine sample lead to AV's unreasonable discomfort. The facility's failure is a violation of resident rights, is considered neglect of care and constitutes abuse.
Sanction: RCFCP23-00763 $2500.00 fine assessed
