Findings: The Alleged Victim (AV) relies on the facility for his/her care. AV had a physician’s order for daily weight checks and to notify the RN and/or Doctor if weight gain is plus/or minus three pounds. According to an investigation, AV had an increase of approximately six pounds and the RN and/or Doctor was not notified for approximately two or three days, resulting in AV experiencing shortness of breath, labored breathing, and a bloody nose and being sent to the hospital for treatment. The facility failed to provide medical treatment as ordered, which is a violation of resident rights, is neglect of care which constitutes abuse.
